Born and raised in Hamilton Ontario, Hether Irene Klesh has always had a passion for animals and art. Living on properties that always bordered on the woods, first the Red Hill Valley, then the Karst Cavern system off Mount Albion Road, fostered a life-long fascination with nature. Hether now located in the Niagara area, still makes regular returns to the Hamilton area and welcomes her wonderful past clients to contact her !
A more spiritual approach to life combined with this love for animals led to the portraits people have come to describe as "capturing the very spirit of the subject." Hether now works mostly in graphite and oil pastel.
Whether it be your cherished pet, a gift for family or friends, a building or a specially commissioned original piece of art, Hether's guarantee of satisfaction makes the creation of your subject choice worry free! Upon consulting with you and your photos, your heirloom-in-the-making is a carefully thought out process to ensure a fitting tribute. Please enquire for custom commission pricing. All portraits are done from clear photographs, backgrounds, plaid, lace etc additional.
Giving back to the community has also been very important to Hether, who donated portrait prizes for ten years to the Hamilton S.P.C.A.'s Wiggle Waggle Walkathon; a portrait of Troy, Hamilton PSD who was killed in the line of duty & Ace, Search and Rescue dog who found a local resident alive after having been in the snow 3 days, and many more.
As one of several people who started an online petition for harsher penalties for Police Service Animals after Edmonton Police Service Dog Quanto, was killed in the line of duty resulted in success! On July 24th, 2015 Bill C-35, also known as Quanto's Law was passed which includes police service animals, military animals, and service dogs. As well, she rehabilitated wild song birds from her home for 7 years. "Money does not solve problems, people do."
Hether also does both adult and children's art lessons, $35.00 an hour based on information about the right and left brain hemispheres, which she has researched for decades as well as the latest eye and brain plasticity research.
